This article will take you through commonly asked questions for eScoring. These FAQs are broken down into before, during and after game processes.
Before the Match:
Question | Answer |
I don't have access to the eScoring portal? |
Before you start eScoring, you need to make sure the club has added you as an eScoring admin. Follow this guide on how to setup an eScoring admin. |
How do you find your access level? | Your access level is determined by your club. When they invite you to be an admin, you will receive and email which says "*ADMINNAME" has invited you to join as a Full Access Admin or E-Scoring admin". This tells you your access level. You can also contact our team, or a member from your club to find your current access level. If you need this updated, please contact your club admin. |
Can you use the one generic club login for multiple club matches being E-scored at the same time? |
Yes. It is generally recommended to create separate generic login email addresses like: One generic email address can be used at the same time for different matches. If 4/5 people use the same email at the same time for various matches, this will be OK.
This is generally up to clubs discretion as to logins for individual scorers. |
My match says it has already been started? How do I get a game unlocked so I can score it? |
It is really important to remember that if you are selecting teams in the days leading up to a match, it is best to do it via Game Day (Admin Portal) or MyTeams. Teams should only be entered via eScoring on the day of the match by the scorer. In the case of being locked out of a match but you are the primary scorer, you should follow the match takeover process. You can find a guide here to help. |
We are scoring a junior formats game today, will the different scoring rules apply?
|
Junior formats have a different set of scoring rules. Unlimited dismissals for a batter, limits on deliveries per over are just some examples. For these to flow through to the eScoring portal, these rules need to be setup in the competition settings by the association. If you notice that something isn't being applied properly, please contact your competition administrator. |
I am getting a 'new version available' pop-up, but unable to update |
If the update button is not working, this is generally due to a caching issue. Please try the following troubleshooting methods:
|
I am getting an error 'There was a problem getting the data for your session, Please try again later' |
For this error - please try clearing out your browser cache. Alternatively, please also try changing browsers, or using incognito mode on your browser. |
I am trying to start a new eScoring session, however the previous game is still showing? What do I do? |
As above for this issue - please try clearing out your browser cache. Alternatively, please also try changing browsers, or using incognito mode on your browser. This should alleviate any problems. |

If you are secondary and the primary does not come to the 2day, can you change to the primary scorer?
|
Yes. When you log into the scoring session at the start of the second day, it will give you the option to either become a secondary scorer or to take over as primary scorer.
Please be aware that this will require you to know the pin that was used to open the scoring session.
Also note: If you are secondary taking over primary scoring - it will pick up the scoring from where the original primary scoring was at that point in time.

After the Match:
Question | Answer |
We are in between days 1 and 2 and noticed some errors in the batting scores. How do we fix these up? |
If a game is being eScored and you notice an error, you will need to go back into the eScoring platform and make the edits via the scorecard. Any edits in Game Day (Admin Portal) while a match is still being eScored can result in being locked out of eScoring the rest of the match. |
We started the match with internet, but scored the rest offline. What is the best process so scores sync back to PlayHQ and we don't lose data? | The best process in this case is to ensure you connect back to the internet prior to 'ending session'. You must ensure this is done to not lose any data and have the scores sync back to PlayHQ |
Our game has been completed but noticed an error in scorecard, but the game has been locked and I can't edit? |
Some associations/competitions will have a set timeframe in which you can edit results after a game. If it is locked, generally it is because this period has passed. Associations/competitions can open up a match again for 24 hours to allow edits. It is best to get in contact with your competition admin to see if they can do this for you. |
