Ahead of the 23/24 Summer, Cricket Australia and PlayHQ hosted a webinar that explained the use of Transfers & Permits. Going through different scenarios where you would use them.
Association Administrators will also find the explanation of the different advanced auto approval settings useful. Utilising these settings will save admins time and help speed up the transfers and permits process for participants.
Catch the webinar recording below, along with the questions and answers from that session.
Question | Answer |
Is a permit what we will use for School where players are also playing for clubs? | Transfers and permits are applicable to junior and senior competitions. Participants won't need to submit a permit to play for a club and a school. |
Can different notifications be set by Competition? | The notifications are set at the organisation level so it cannot be set by Competition. |
How can a player be registered at two clubs? Examples plays grade cricket with his local club (affiliated club) and plays Veterans cricket with a different club. Transfers don't work as one membership is cancelled. We can apply for a permit from the players affiliated club but there is no area for the player then to register with the Veterans Club. This has been a significant issue as Veterans Cricket is played year round. | Scenario two covered in the webinar recording is the most applicable here. If you want to collect payment at the secondary club, we recommend the participant submits a “Participant led permit”, which once approved, will allow them to register and pay at the second club. |
Can we just register players separately for the rep entities as we did last year, instead of permits. similar to the Junior/Senior scenario? | Representative cricket will require a permit. |
If a transfer request is declined initially due to a player owing fees to the original club, does a new transfer request need to be lodged again once the fees have been paid? | A new transfer will need to be logged in this instance. Fees at the new club won't be processed from a player until the transfer is approved by the outgoing club. |
At association level - How can the transfer system work with auto approval this coming season if it doesn't recognise where the player played last season? | Transfers won’t become relevant until at least one round of registration data has been captured. If you need guidance on changes in affiliation between MyCricket and PlayHQ please speak to your association or local State or Territory body. |
Some of our schools play in associations so what process do we need to follow in that scenario? | In this case they may require a permit/transfer. It’s more for pure school competitions where these won’t apply. |
If a fill-in player is used, will it populate once the player registers? | You can swap the fill-in record with the player’s actual profile in the Game Day section of the admin portal once they have registered in the system. |
