Overview:
There are two ways in which a fixture can be created, the article below will guide you on how to generate a fixture using the Fixture Wizard in the Admin Portal and how to generate a fixture using the fixture upload tool.
Fixture Upload Wizard:
The first way you can generate a fixture is by using the fixture wizard, steps to use the fixture wizard are below:
Steps :
In the PlayHQ Administration Portal click on Competition Management → Choose Competition → Choose Season.
Under the Grade tab, it will show the grades created previously. Before Generating the fixture ensure that all teams are correctly allocated to the grade.
You will now need to click on the Generate Fixture button. Once you've selected Generate Fixture, the fixture settings page will display in the first step of two. Complete all required information with the appropriate details for the grade PlayHQ will then prompt you to fill in the below details:
- Grade start date/Number of rounds/Frequency (eg. weekly).
- Finals and number of teams in finals
- Season Exception dates (eg. School Holidays)
Select the Next button to progress to the second step - Select Game Type Page. The select game type page will allow you specify which format (T20 , One Day , 2Day+ ) will apply to every game within a round.
Select Generate Fixture to commit your settings and have the fixture for the grade created.

The second way a fixture can be generated is via the Fixture Upload Tool, steps to use Fixture Upload are below:
In the Admin Portal select the Competition Management main menu item, and then the appropriate Competition and Season tile. From here, select the More drop down and click Fixture Upload.
Once two or more teams are allocated to a season and at least one grade exists, the 'Add Custom Fixture' button will be enabled.
Download the legend to view formatting examples that the template requires for a successful upload. The legend includes four tabs:
- formatting examples containing: round, date, time and game_alias
- org comp season containing: organisation, competition, season
- grade teams containing: grade, team
- venues courts containing: venues, courts
Download the CSV Fixture template and populate it with your fixture details. The template includes the correct column names that are expected when completing a fixture upload.
Note: Multiple grades can also be fixtured in the same file.
In rounds where there are 2Day Games, only enter the starting date of day 1 in the “Round Date” column.
If a game has no venue, do not enter info in the “Game Time”, “Game Dates” as the file will throw an error.
Select the 'Add Custom Fixture' button and then the 'Upload CSV' button to select your completed fixture template file and then upload it.
